Scott Thomson became CEO of Actylis in June 2024. Previously, he served as CEO of SPI Pharma and spent 29 years at BASF in senior roles, including Senior Vice President for North America Care Chemicals and Global Pharmaceutical Solutions. His extensive experience includes leadership in sales, marketing, innovation, and operational management across personal care, pharmaceuticals, and industrial markets. Scott has split his time between the US and Europe, reflecting his global expertise. He holds an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Eric Gaertner is the Chief Operating Officer at Actylis, based in Düsseldorf, Germany. With over 20 years of experience, he specializes in global manufacturing, supply chain management, EHS, IT, and quality & regulatory functions. He has led large-scale operational transformations at Beckers Group, Meyle AG, and Evonik, establishing continuous optimization processes and driving sustainable growth. Passionate about digitalization and collaboration, Eric focuses on enhancing efficiency and scalability. A native of Belgium, he holds degrees in Electrical Engineering and Business Administration from Technical University Darmstadt. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, hiking, and cooking with his family.

Tim joined Actylis in June 2021. In Tim’s role, he leads Actylis’ merger and acquisition efforts, including integration. He also partners with various business units across the company to develop new opportunities, with a focus on business and geographic expansion. Tim has 15 years of M&A experience, having spent almost 10 years at Morgan Stanley in its Investment Banking Division, before moving into corporate M&A, where he was most recently part of the corporate development team at Eastman Chemical. Tim’s M&A experience is global, including 7 years when he was based in Hong Kong and Singapore. Tim earned his MBA in Finance and Strategy from the University of Iowa and holds a BA from Cornell College.
Lauren Seufert joined Actylis in September 2024 as Chief Strategy Officer and is based in Basel, Switzerland. She comes to Actylis with a global business background in the specialty and industrial chemicals industry including roles in Marketing, NBD, Strategy, Procurement, Sales, and Business Management for companies including BASF, Nalco and Ashland in both the US and Europe. In addition to her corporate leadership background, Lauren founded her own international company in 2018, where she was an executive coach and transformation consultant for leaders and their global organizations. Her client base included those focusing primarily on the Chemical, Pharma, Engineering, Tech and Life Sciences industries in US, Europe, and Asia Pacific. Lauren holds an MBA from Seton Hall University, a B.S. Chemical Engineering from the University of Virginia. In addition, she is certified as an ICF (PCC) Coach and Prosci Change Practitioner.

Keith Wilkinson
President, Specialty Chemicals
Keith joined Actylis in 1990. He holds dual roles as President, North America and SVP of Specialty Chemicals business globally. Keith’s initial role at Actylis was product manager and he then served in multiple roles of increasing responsibility over the years. Since 2010, Keith has been involved in Actylis' strategic push in the specialty chemical arena in Europe. Keith graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Delaware.
Damien joined Actylis in April 2021 as part of the acquisition of A&C, a global GMP manufacturer of excipients, buffers, and process solutions. He was appointed President in January 2022, having held numerous positions of increasing responsibility at A&C over the last 11 years, most recently as VP & COO where he was responsible for the global operations of the company including the successful execution of investment and change programs.
Prior to joining A&C, he spent over a decade in the Merchant Navy and Oil & Gas sector and served as Chief Engineer with OOCL. Damien graduated from CIT (MTU) in Marine & Plant Engineering. He earned his Chief Engineer license at the National Maritime College of Ireland and completed the Executive Development Course at McGill Executive Institute in Montreal.

Mark Bostel
President, Global Nutrition & OTC
In 2024, Actylis acquired Pharm-Rx and welcomed Mark to its Senior Leadership Team. As Global President of Nutrition and OTC, Mark brings deep experience in the Dietary Supplement and Fine Chemical industries, working closely with suppliers around the globe and a wide variety of customers in North America. He also works jointly with product development and purchasing teams overseeing projects from concept to commercialization. Mark has a bachelor’s degree with majors in International Finance and Marketing and Accounting from the University of Miami and pursued a master’s in financial accountancy from Rutgers University.
Sunil Punjabi is Actylis’ President of Asia Pacific. He joined the company in February 2022 and is based in Bangalore, India. Sunil is responsible for expanding Actylis’ sales presence in the Asia Pacific region. He has previously worked for Merck KGaA in India, where he was most recently the Managing Director of Merck Life Sciences and Merck Country Speaker. Sunil brings over 30 years of experience in the Life Science industry predominantly with Merck KGaA and Sigma Aldrich where he held a number of positions of increasing responsibilities in Asia in the sales, marketing and operations departments, including 2 years as Managing Director of Sigma Aldrich South East Asia based in Singapore .

Varun Vijay Rao
Chief Supplier Management Officer
Varun joined Actylis in November 2020 and oversees Actylis procurement organization including sourcing offices in India and China. He comes to Aceto with a varied background including Engineering, Marketing, Strategy, Procurement, Sales, and General business management for firms such as Cummins, ArvinMeritor and Actuant in both the US and India. Varun co-founded and directed Radeo Engineered Components immediately prior to joining Aceto. Varun holds a BS in Mathematics & Physics from Elon University and a master’s in mechanical engineering from North Carolina State University.
John joined Actylis in August, 2019 with more than 25 years of executive Human Resources experience. Prior to joining Actylis, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer for Drive Medical for 4 years. Drive was one of North America’s largest manufacturers and suppliers of durable medical equipment. John was also a member of Drive’s executive management committee where he led the companies global human capital initiatives. John began his Human Resources career at Henry Schein, Inc., a Fortune 500 company and the world’s largest supplier of office-based healthcare products. In 1992, he was named Director of HR operations and in his 20+ career took on increased responsibilities up to and including leading Henry Schein’s talent acquisition and diversity functions globally. John is a graduate of St. John’s University where he earned degrees in Political Science and Communications. He is also certified in Human Resources by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), where he has earned SHRM-SCP certification.

James Steele

James joined Actylis in January 2020. He brings more than 30 years of strategic financial execution and global finance experience. Most recently, James was Director of Corporate/International Finance at World Wide Technology (WWT). WWT is a $11B private, global technology service provider based in Missouri. Prior to joining WWT, James spent over 10 years at Sigma Aldrich/Merck KGaA in key executive financial roles of increasing responsibility. In his last position at Sigma-Aldrich/Merck KGaA James was Vice President, Integration Planning Office Lead. In this position he played a key role on several M&A opportunities including the acquisition of Sigma-Aldrich by Merck KGaA. James holds a BSBA in Accounting from the University of Missouri-St Louis and is a CPA.
